Kids don’t learn the way adults do. Krav Junior is faster-paced, game-based, and adapted to the real situations young people actually face — bullying, peer pressure, unwanted contact, and confidence under pressure. We teach them when to use it just as much as how.
Every class follows the official Krav Maga Global Kids/Teens curriculum — the same syllabus used in over 60 countries — adapted by our certified Kids Instructors for Sydney kids and Australian school culture. Lessons are 45 minutes long, run during NSW school terms, and progress through clear grading levels so your child can see their own growth.

Classes by age
Three programs. One curriculum.
Every class includes a warm-up, learning games, drilled techniques, and a wrap-up debrief — but each age group is taught at the developmental level that fits them.
5–8
Kids
Coordination, confidence, and simple self-defence through energetic, engaging learning games. Safe, high-energy, and built around their attention span.

9–12
Juniors
More structure, sharper technique, and broader scenarios relevant to school and daily life. Confidence-building drills with real-world context.

13–15
Teens
Detailed scenarios, practical applications, and the decision-making and resilience teens need as they step into the adult world.

Orange-belt and above? Junior & Teens Combat Tactics classes add controlled sparring & pressure drills. Sparring gear required.

Junior fees are based on 12 months of training, split into 26 equal fortnightly payments — so the price stays consistent through term and holidays. A one-off $55 uniform fee covers your child’s training shirt and pants.

FAQ for parents
Your first questions.
What age does my child need to be?
Krav Kids runs from age 5. We split classes into Kids (5–8), Juniors (9–12) and Teens (13–15) so the language, drills and energy of each session match the age group. From 16 your teen moves into the adult Open Krav Maga classes.
What if they’ve never done martial arts before?
Perfect — every kid in the room started at zero. Our 14 Day Starter Program is built exactly for first-timers. There’s no expected fitness level, no prior skill required, and no graded students to feel intimidated by — beginners train with beginners.
Do they need to be fit or sporty?
No. Krav Junior builds fitness, coordination and resilience — your child doesn’t need to bring any. The class is structured so every kid can keep up: warm-ups are scalable, drills are partnered up by ability, and instructors adapt intensity on the fly.
What do they need to bring on day one?
A water bottle, comfortable activewear they can move freely in, and shoes they can train in (or bare feet). We provide all training pads and gear. Once they’ve decided to continue, you’ll grab a uniform ($55 one-off) at the desk.
Are parents allowed to watch?
Absolutely — and we encourage it. Both Castle Hill and Ryde have parent seating right alongside the mat. Many parents start watching, then end up booking their own starter program a few weeks in.
Do classes run during school holidays?
Kids, Juniors and Teens classes pause during NSW school holidays. Your fortnightly fee already accounts for this — it’s calculated across 12 months, so the cost stays the same week to week regardless of term breaks.
How long is each class? How often should we come?
Each class is 45 minutes. Once a week (Silver) is plenty to build consistent skills. Twice a week or more (Platinum unlimited) accelerates retention noticeably — most parents who upgrade say their child’s progress doubled.
Will my child be hit or hurt?
No. Junior classes use controlled, partner-based drills with pads — no live sparring at any age in the standard syllabus. Junior & Teens Combat Tactics (orange belt and up, optional) introduces light controlled contact with full sparring gear, and parents are briefed before their child is eligible.
How does grading work?
Krav Maga Global uses a structured belt system from Practitioner 1 through Practitioner 5. We hold formal gradings throughout the year — your child only grades when they’re ready, and you’ll be told well in advance. Grading is a milestone moment, so we will do everything we can to prepare them for it. We want our students working hard too!
Can we try before we commit?
Yes — that’s exactly what the 14 Day Junior Starter ($45) is for. Two weeks of unlimited classes, no contract, no auto-rollover. If it’s not the right fit you simply don’t continue.
